Company Description:
Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STUBA) belongs to leading universities in microelectronics education and R&D activities in Slovakia. Almost 13 000 students attend its 7 faculties. The Institute of Electronics and Photonics of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is mainly active in fields of microelectronics, IC design, optoelectronics and sensors. The institute has experience in design of integrated circuits and systems, smart sensors and wireless monitoring systems, organic electronics. Another strong field of the institute is the structure and device characterization and failure analysis either by electrical or analytical tools (SEM, EBIC, CL, AES, AFM, SIMS, micro-Raman spectroscopy). There is a strong international cooperation of the institute in the field of R&D. The solved projects comprise smart sensors and signal processing for healthcare and environmental applications, analogue and mixed signal design, smart power MOS device design and characterization, compound semiconductor structures and devices, organic electronics, diamond and carbon nanotubes. The institute actively participated in many projects within the FP4/FP6/FP7, H2020, ENIAC JU/ECSEL JU and COST grant schemes. More than 20 projects funded by national authorities and/or within bilateral international collaboration are being solved at the institute yearly.
Role and main tasks within the project:
STUBA is project partner in PROGRESSUS and contributes in the following areas:
• Energy harvesting towards the IC power autonomy
• AC/DC and DC/DC conversion towards consumption reduction
• Hardware accelerated task scheduling for real-time systems
